In the interior of the church, different layers of plastering have preserved 28 incised and fresco inscriptions dating to the ninth-eleventh centuries. They are outlined in capital and minuscule script, and there is one written in modern lay script dating to the 15th -16th centuries. They are mainly historical or liturgical-hymnographical and do not provide any direct account about construction, renovation or painting of the church.
