Only fragments can be discerned from the badly damaged paintings, although it is still possible to estimate the programme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Church<\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dome<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An equal-armed cross inscribed in a medallion was depicted against the starry background in the dome. All four squinches are decorated by alternation of reddish and greyish lines.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chancel<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the chancel the composition of <em>Christ in Majesty<\/em> is distributed in two registres. In the conch enthroned Christ is depicted without a mandorla; His right hand is raised in blessing, and has an open codex with the text (John 8:12; 6:41; 6:51) in His left hand. The Savior is flanked by archangels directed towards Him. Both are depicted with their right hands raised at the chest, and holding a rolled scroll in the left. There are images of a bull (<strong>\u10a9\u2d13\u10b0[<\/strong><strong>\u10ad<\/strong><strong>] <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Bull)<\/strong> and a lion (<strong>\u2d0a\u10ad|\u10ab\u2d08 <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Lion<\/strong>) at the legs of the throne, on both sides. Behind them, on both sides is a seraph with eyes depicted on the wings (on the north: <strong>\u10ab\u10b0[&#8230;]|[- -]\u2d13[-][&#8230;] <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>mr<\/strong><strong>[&#8230;][-]<\/strong><strong>u<\/strong><strong>[-][&#8230;]<\/strong>; on the south: <strong>[\u10ab\u10b0\u10a0]\u10a5|[\u10a0\u10aa\u10a7\u10b3]\u10a0|\u2d0a[-][&#8230;] <\/strong>\u2013<strong> [\u10db\u10e0\u10d0]\u10d5[\u10d0\u10da\u10d7\u10e3]\u10d0\u10da[-][&#8230;]<\/strong>). Instead of an eagle, there is an image of a peacock <strong>(<\/strong><strong>\u10b4\u10b0|\u10b8\u10a0\u10ab|\u10a0\u10a2|\u2d08 <\/strong><strong>\u2013 Peacock<\/strong>) at the edges of the upper wings of the seraphim.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the second registre, which is separated from the conch composition by a folded ornament, there are images of the Virgin flanked by apostles. Presently, only fragments of heads and nimbs of several figures have are visible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Small figures are depicted on the triumphal arch in the south and north corners of the chancel; they are directed in three quarter position towards the center.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aisle<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Equestrian figures of holy riders are depicted in the middle section of the north wall in <strong>the north arm<\/strong>; only separate fragments of the horses, the dragon and Diocletian lying on the ground can be discerned; several graphemes can be observed in the left part of the composition: \u2013 <strong>\u10a3 <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>D<\/strong><strong>; \u10a8<\/strong><strong> &#8211; I or <\/strong><strong>\u10a4 <\/strong>&#8211; <strong>E<\/strong><strong>; \u10b4 <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>F<\/strong><strong>. <\/strong>Better legible is an inscription beside St. George: <strong>[&#8230;][\u10ba]\u10ad\u10a3\u10a0\u10a3 | \u10ab\u10ad\u10bb\u10a0\u10be|\u2d13\u10b0 \u10a3\u10a0 \u10ba|\u2d13\u10a3\u10a0\u10a3 \u10ab\u10a6\u2d13\u10a0\u10ad\u10a1[\u10a0\u10b0] [&#8230;]<\/strong> \u2013<strong> [&#8230;][\u10ea]\u10e3\u10d3\u10d0\u10d3 \u10db\u10dd\u10eb\u10d0\u10ee\u10e3\u10e0 \u10d3\u10d0 \u10ea\u10e3\u10d3\u10d0\u10d3 \u10db\u10d6\u10e3\u10d0\u10dd\u10d1[\u10d0\u10e0] [&#8230;].<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An equal-armed cross contained in a medallion is depicted in the center of the vault of the north arm. Edges of the fabric extending from the medallion are held by two figures with their hands raised in supplication represented on the east and west panels of the arm (only <strong>[&#8230;]\u10ab\u10a4 <\/strong>\u2013<strong> [&#8230;]<\/strong><strong>me<\/strong> can be observed beside the image on the east and \u2013 <strong>\u10a3\u10a4\u10a3 <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>ded <\/strong>\u2013 beside that depicted on the west.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">No painting can be identified in the second registre of the east and west walls of the north arm; fragment of an inscription has survived in the right corner of the west wall: <strong>[&#8230;]| [-]\u10a7 [\u10a0]|\u10a2\u10a4\u2d0a\u10ad|\u10a6\u2d08 <\/strong>\u2013<strong> [&#8230;][-]<\/strong><strong>t\u2019<\/strong><strong> [<\/strong><strong>A<\/strong><strong>]<\/strong><strong>ngel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Southern Porch<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The chapel is fully plastered and painted. Presently, fragments of the murals have survived in the chancel, also on the eastern and western slopes of the vault.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Enthroned Virgin Eleusa (<strong>\u10bc<\/strong><strong>(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)[<\/strong><strong>\u10c2<\/strong><strong>]<\/strong><strong> \u10ab<\/strong><strong>(\u10a0\u10b0\u10a8\u10a0)<\/strong><strong>\u10ab <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Saint Mary<\/strong>) is depicted in the chancel<strong>. <\/strong>Christ caressing Mother (<strong>\u10b5<\/strong><strong>(\u10b0\u10a8\u10b1\u10b2)<\/strong><strong>\u10a4 <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Christ<\/strong>) has His right hand on Her neck, and is holding a rolled-up scroll in the left hand stretched forward. The Mother of God is flanked by saint archangels &#8211; Michael (<strong>\u10ab<\/strong><strong>(\u10a8)<\/strong><strong>\u10b5<\/strong><strong>(\u10a4)<\/strong><strong>\u10aa <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Michael<\/strong>) and Gabriel (<strong>\u10a2<\/strong><strong>(\u10a0)<\/strong><strong>\u10a1|\u10b0<\/strong><strong>(\u10a8\u10a4\u10aa)<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Gabriel<\/strong>) with their both hands raised in supplication.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <em>Annunciation of the Virgin <\/em>is represented above the chancel, on the eastern panel of the vault. On the right, there is a figure of the Virgin standing at the throne (<strong>\u10ab<\/strong><strong>(\u10a0\u10b0\u10a8\u10a0)<\/strong><strong>\u10ab <\/strong>\u2013<strong> \u10db(\u10d0\u10e0\u10d8\u10d0)\u10db <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Mary<\/strong>) with her right hand raised in the gesture of greeting; on the left \u2013 St. Archangel the Evangelist directed towards Mother Mary have his right hand stretched towards her in blessing (<strong>\u10a2\u10a0\u10a1\u10b0\u10a8\u10a4|\u2d0a \u10a0\u10a2\u10a4\u2d0a\u10ad|\u10a6\u10a8 <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Angel Gabriel<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Opposite the scene of the <em>Annunciation<\/em>, on the western panel of the vault is <em>Meeting of the Virgin with St. Elizabeth;<\/em> Mother of God and Elizabeth are leaning their heads to each other and embracing each other. A frontal figure of a clergyman with a square nimb depicted on the left (see the inscription above) is not marked off from this composition by a registre line and is perceived as part the scene.
