In the process of conservation-restoration carried out in the 1980s, it became possible to fully restore the art program of the first layer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The original painting in the interior of the minor church was composed of two registres.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chancel<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Composition of <em>Christ in Majesty<\/em> was represented in the chancel: only a large figure of enthroned Christ was depicted in the conch \u2013 in the places where the upper layer has come off one can observe fragment of the Savior\u2019s foot and the pedestal; images of archangels and apostles were shifted to the hall \u2013 on the north and south vaults; in these sections, on both sides are single figures of an archangel and an apostle, namely, on the north \u2013 St. Archangel and St. Peter the Apostle; on the south \u2013 St. Archangel and St. Paul the Apostle (<strong>\u10bc<\/strong><strong>(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)<\/strong><strong>\u10c2<\/strong> <strong>| \u10ae\u10a0\u10a5\u10aa\u10a4 <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Saint Paul<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Plastering is completely fallen off the lower half of the chancel. Therefore, it remains unknown whether there was any image depicted on the lower area of the apse \u2013 a rather wide band of geometrical ornament made up of only blue and white squares can be discerned near the narrow maroon-colored line framing the conch composition.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aisle<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the lower registre of <strong>the south wall<\/strong> there are frontal figures of holy riders; only the halo and several graphemes have survived of the first figure from east (<strong>\u10bc<\/strong><strong>(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)<\/strong><strong>\u10c2<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Saint<\/strong>); scholars suggest it must be St. Theodore). Next to him (on the west) are portrayals of St. Artem (<strong>\u10bc<\/strong><strong>(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)<\/strong><strong>\u10c2<\/strong> <strong>| \u10a0\u10b0|\u10b2\u10a4\u10ab\u10a8 <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Saint Artemios<\/strong>) and St. George (<strong>\u10bc<\/strong><strong>(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)<\/strong><strong>\u10c2<\/strong> <strong>| \u10a2<\/strong><strong>(<\/strong><strong>\u10a8<\/strong><strong>\u10ad<\/strong><strong>)<\/strong><strong>\u10b0\u10a2\u10a8 <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Saint George<\/strong>); they are both depicted with spears in their right hands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The Annunciation of the Virgin <\/em>is depicted in the first registre of<strong> the west wall<\/strong> (fragment if the archangel\u2019s foot and inscription have survived \u2013 <strong>\u10a0\u10b5\u10a0 | \u10a2(\u10a0)\u10a1\u10b0(\u10a8\u10a4)\u10aa <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>Here is Gabriel<\/strong>).
