Conservation of the painting in the dome was carried out in the 1950s and in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dome<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Ascension of the Cross <\/em>is depicted in the dome sphere. The cross set with precious stones and raised by four angels is encircled in a three-ply aureole. The archangels are holding the mandorla in one hand, and the other hands are rested towards the beholder. The explanatory inscription can be identified only in the eastern pair of archangels, next to the angel depicted on the north-east; two similar inscriptions are executed near the figure of St. Archangel Raphael <strong>\u10b0(\u10a0)\u10b4(\u10a8\u10a4)\u10aa<\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong><strong>Raphael<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Personification of the sun is depicted on the southern panel of the vault in the form of a youth mounted on a lion (<strong>\u10ab~\u10a6\u10a4 \u2013 <\/strong><strong>Sun<\/strong>) holding a horn of abundance in two hands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A composition of the <em>Deesis<\/em> and eight figures of prophets are distributed in the drum so that the whole area between two windows are occupied only by the Savior; the rest of the figures are represented in pairs on the areas between the windows.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the composition of the <em>Deesis<\/em> depicted north of the east window Christ (<strong>\u1f38<\/strong><strong>(<\/strong><strong>\u03b7\u03c3\u03bf<\/strong><strong>\u1fe6<\/strong><strong>)<\/strong><strong>\u03c2<\/strong> <strong>\u03a7(\u03c1\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4<\/strong><strong>\u1f78<\/strong><strong>)<\/strong><strong>\u03c2 <\/strong><strong>\u2013 <\/strong><strong>Jesus Christ<\/strong>) is seated on the throne, with His right hand raised on the side in blessing and an open codex on the knee (John 10:11). The figures of the Virgin (<strong>\u039c(\u03ae\u03c4\u03b7)\u03c1 <\/strong><strong>||<\/strong><strong> \u0398(\u03b5\u03bf)<\/strong><strong>\u1fe6<\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong><strong>Mother of God<\/strong>) and St. John the Baptist (<strong>\u10bc(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)\u10c2<\/strong><strong> || \u10c2<\/strong><strong>(<\/strong><strong>\u10ad\u10a0\u10ac<\/strong><strong>)<\/strong><strong>\u10a4 \u10ac\u10a0\u10a7\u10aa(\u10a8)\u10b1|\u10ab\u10ba\u10a4\u10ab\u10a4\u10aa\u10c2 \u2013 <\/strong><strong>Saint John the Baptist<\/strong>) are situated on two sides of the Savior, on two different sections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The prophets are represented frontally with full body; they are blessing with the right hand and holding unfolded scrolls in the left. The prophets are situated in pairs, clockwise, in the following order: St. Isaiah the Prophet (<strong>\u10bc(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)\u10c2<\/strong> <strong>\u10a4\u10b1\u10c2\u10a0<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Saint Isaiah<\/strong>); with an inscription on the scroll (Isaiah 11:1)); St. Jeremiah the Prophet (<strong>\u10bc(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)\u10c2<\/strong> || <strong>\u10c2\u10a4\u10b0\u10ab\u10a0<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Saint Jeremiah<\/strong>) and St. Ezekiel the Prophet (<strong>\u10bc(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)\u10c2<\/strong> <strong>|| \u10a4[\u10a6(\u10a4)\u10a9(\u10a8\u10a4)\u10aa]<\/strong> <strong>\u2013<\/strong><strong> Saint Ezekiel<\/strong>) (the multi-line text on their scrolls cannot be identified); St. Jonah the Prophet ([<strong>\u10bc(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)\u10c2<\/strong>] || <strong>\u10c2\u10ad\u10ac\u10a0<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Saint Jonah<\/strong>) with an inscription on the scroll (Jonah 2:8); St. Daniel the Prophet (<strong>\u10bc(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)\u10c2<\/strong> | <strong>\u10a3(\u10a0)\u10ac(\u10a8\u10a4)|\u10aa<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Saint Daniel<\/strong>) with an inscription on the scroll (Daniel, 9:10), St. Hosea the Prophet (<strong>\u10bc(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)\u10c2<\/strong> || <strong>\u10ad\u10b1\u10a8\u10a4<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Saint Hosea<\/strong>); the text on the scrolls is not identifiable), St. Amos the Prophet (<strong>\u10bc(\u10ab\u10a8\u10a3\u10a0)\u10c2<\/strong> || <strong>\u10a0\u10ab<\/strong><strong>(<\/strong>\u10ad<strong>)<\/strong><strong>\u10b1<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Saint Amos<\/strong>).
